Say Hello to Thank You Videos

By Meredith Robertson September 26, 2016

Thank You. Two simple words that can make a substantial difference in your business.

Do you love sending out thank you cards on a regular basis?  What if you could create a memorable and unique thank you that clients would take notice of?

Consider creating thank you videos as part of your daily/weekly routine. It’s a simple and personal way of making that thank you stand out, especially if you are looking to retain or gain a new client.  Videos develop our brand personality and show off the human side of our business, which is a major plus in the digital age where we are trying to compete and put out that personal touch.

Everyone wants to feel appreciated and a short, personal video can convey a number of messages easily.  The best part is that you don’t need a script; you can just be yourself.  If you are looking for opportunities to wow the person on the receiving end, a short 1-2 minute video can do the trick.

There are so many reasons to say thank you.  Perhaps you appreciate a customer’s business or maybe someone connected with you online or sent you a referral.  Perhaps they just made time to meet you for coffee or gave you a helping hand when you least expected it.

Here are a few of my suggestions to get you started:

  1. Keep it short. (2 minutes or less)

  2. Always identify yourself.  Make sure you say your name or put it in text on the video. Make it personal to the viewer. Don't make a general video that is for the masses; your clients deserve individual attention.

  3. Talk about the impact of what they have done for you or your business. Impact is huge and it makes the customer or client feel connected.

  4. Share testimonials or stories from your business.  It’s all about storytelling and sharing positive experiences with others.

  5. Be creative.  Understand your business and share something they might not know. Make them feel like a VIP.

  6. Share photos and visuals when appropriate.

The hashtag #thankyouthursday is very popular right now.  Why don’t you try sending out at least one thank you video each week, on Thursday, as you start up this process?
